NCCAFV's AMERICAN CAMPAIGN for PREVENTION
of CHILD ABUSE & FAMILY VIOLENCE
A 501(c)(3) nongovernmental, nonprofit USA organization.
Our Thirty-Eigth Year of Voluntary Service to America's Children and Families
THANK YOU FOR VISITING THE NATIONAL COUNCIL'S OFFICIAL WEBPAGE!
Fear for what has happened in Ukraine touches both the elderly and the young and after two years in which the pandemic has undermined every certainty, every possibility to plan the future seems impossible.
Helping to understand the information and images in circulation is central. For this we have prepared a list of tips on how to deal with the war issue in your family:
1. Welcome their emotions and listen carefully to the verbal and non-verbal messages;
2. Help give names to their feelings and emotions, by respecting and favoring the expression;
3. Take their fears seriously, don’t underestimate them and use terms suitable for their age;
4. Explain the function of fears: they often protect us from the dangers of the surrounding environment;
5. Ask their opinion: it may be useful to redefine any wrong beliefs.

NCCAFV's American Prevention Campaign MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to provide probono volunteer abuse prevention services to every generational stage of the family by bringing together community and national stakeholders, volunteers and professionals to prevent intergenerational family violence: child abuse and neglect, spouse/partner abuse, and elder abuse & neglect.
Did you know that Domestic Violence (spouse/partner abuse) is reported in more than 50% of official protective service investigations into child abuse and neglect?
Too many families experience abuse -- child abuse, spouse/partner abuse, elder abuse -- in one or more of its many forms: emotional, physical, verbal, sexual, economic. It is expressed through violence, intimidation, abusive language, controlling behavior and exploitation..
More than ever before, people are aware of the painful and often long lasting effects of abusive behavior within the family. No longer does a family member need to suffer silently — help is available NOW by clicking here.
Assistance for all generations in any family seeking help is now available from local public and private social service agencies, churches, shelters, local law enforcement and the legal and medical communities. NCCAFV provides this website to assist, inform and link victims with those local agencies and individuals who volunteer to serve in this national safety network.
Because our entirely volunteer staff serve probono without financial compensation, 95% of your contribution goes directly
to program services. The small percentage allocated to support services is a reliable indication that we are committed
to using your generous income tax-deductible support efficiently and effectively. Federal EIN #95-4356014. Thank you!
